Cold water is best to drink when:

  • Working out: When you work out, your body temperature increases. Cold water helps your body to maintain a lower temperature which results in more energy.
  • Sweating in the heat: When you’re hot, your body tries to cool down through sweating. Sweating leads to losing a lot of fluids which requires you to drink more water. Drinking cold water keeps your body cooler helping to reduce sweat.

Room temperature water is best to drink when:

  • You have a cold: Drinking room temperature or warm water helps you to breathe easier. Drinking cold water thickens your nasal mucus making it harder to breathe.
  • You want to be less thirsty: Drinking room temperature water helps to make you less thirsty.
